Gamers tend to get their hands wet with playing with a few pc parts, but gaming computers should be left to the pros, and its a good idea to purchase a fully featured system builder with the warranty and all that good stuff.
Inside Gaming Computers
What Makes Gaming Computers, Gaming Computers?
What makes a computer a gaming computer you might say. Well gaming computers have specialized components which are geared towards the needs of todays most demanding games. They are nothing like an ordinary machine. Ordinary machines do nothing more than word processing, internet surfing, and playing an occasional DVD movie. Gaming computers need high end graphics card(s) to render the graphics of the most demanding of games. Secondly, they have loads of RAM, and a fast microprocessor. In addition, they have a motherboard which has the capacity to handle all the end end components. All those high end components generate heat which demands a powerful cooling system often liquid cooling. And finally a case that can hold all of that.
SLI Graphics Cards
Graphics cards for gaming computers are one of the most expensive of components. Often multiple graphics cards are included in a gaming machine and are connected together in a format called SLI. This allows the graphics cards to communicate with each other and work together. You can have a system setup of multiple monitors which can make your viewing area in a game extra wide. This is where the need of SLI networked graphics cards come into play for gaming computers. You need a special gaming motherboard which has the necessary slots though to connect all the gaming computers' graphics cards though.
Choose Digital Storm
In order to make the game run faster, gaming computers need loads of RAM to store all the objects of a game temporarily in the memory. In addition to that RAM, to speed up game loading time on gaming computers, you need a blazing fast microprocessor. Often the processor in a gaming computer is overclocked to boost the performance. In order to overclock though, you need a special cooling system, a typical heatsink and fan just wont cut it. Gaming computers often use liquid cooling systems.
Building your Gaming Computer
Purchase or Build Gaming Computers?
Of course gaming computers can be quite expensive and if you plan to purchase a gaming computer instead of building it yourself, you need to analyze your budget and see what components you might choose on a system builder. System builders allow you to choose the components rather than just pick any computer of any specification out there on the market. If you are trying to game, make sure you purchase a computer that is made and advertised specifically for this purpose and not just a really nice basic desktop computer.
